The exhibitors and owners must be current members of E.I.P.H.C. This means if you are a youth showing a horse that is owned by your parents, you must purchase a family membership. The horse and/or exhibitor must participate in 1- E.I.P.H.C. sponsored open all-breed show and 2 E.I.P.H.C. sponsored registered point shows, under two different judges, on two different dates, in each respective class.
Points do not begin accumulating until you have paid the current year’s membership, and your horses’ papers have been submitted.

You must also accumulate at least 8 POINTS in any one class to be eligible to receive a year-end award for that class. If you are showing weanlings, your breeder’s certificate or regular registry papers must be in hand before any points will count and the “regular registry papers” must be in hand by AUGUST 1ST of the show year to be given an award for your weanling.
High point paint year-end awards will be given to the Youth Walk/Trot 11 & Under, Youth 13 & Under, Youth 14 to 18, Novice Amateur, Amateur, All-Around Junior Horse, All-Around Senior Horse, All-Around Green Horse and All-Around Open Horse, which could be a Paint Horse (exclusive of Youth, Novice Amateur and Amateur). For youth, amateur, junior and senior high point awards, the horse must be shown in its respective halter class (i.e., open, youth or amateur) and three riding classes to qualify for any high point award. You must also show in one E.I.P.H.C. sponsored open show in your horses' respective halter class (showmanship and color classes not considered qualifying halter class, however points will count toward high point awards ) open, youth or amateur and three riding classes to qualify for any high point award. Youth and amateur halter classes are offered, and the horse must be shown in its respective halter class. We will follow rules from the APHA handbook regarding ownership of youth and amateur horses, to be eligible to receive year-end awards.
To qualify for novice amateur high point, the horse must be shown in novice amateur showmanship and three novice amateur performance classes. Novice amateur classes are available at APHA pointed shows and EIPHC open shows. Again, you must show in one E.I.P.H.C. sponsored open show in novice amateur showmanship and three novice amateur performance classes in order to qualify for novice amateur high point. Only the results at E.I.P.H.C. approved shows will count towards the high point award. We will follow rules from the APHA rulebook regarding ownership of novice horses to be eligible to receive year-end awards.
Exhibitors can accumulate points in each division, for HIGH POINT year-end awards, such as youth, green horse, open, open all breed, novice amateur or amateur. (Green horse points do not accumulate toward anything other than the HIGH POINT GREEN HORSE award.)
Youth: All classes identified as “youth” will count towards the “Walk-Trot,” “13 & Under” or “14 to 18” youth high point year-end award, depending on the age of the competitor as of January 1.
Novice Amateur: Classes designated as “novice amateur” will count towards the novice amateur high point year-end award.
Amateur: Classes designated as “amateur” will count towards the amateur high point year-end award.
Open: Halter classes (except youth, novice amateur and amateur classes) and two year old, three year old, junior, senior, and open all breed performance classes will count towards the open high point year-end award. The open all breed showmanship class will count toward the HIGH POINT open all breed year-end award only and WILL NOT count toward any youth, novice amateur, amateur, Jr. or Sr. HIGH POINT year-end award.
Green Horse: Any horse, as of January 1, who has not earned more than 10 combined national points in open, youth, amateur or novice. Points earned in these classes will count toward the High Point All-Around Green Horse award only.
OPEN ALL BREED: Open to any horse - paint, solid paint-bred, NON-PAINT – any age exhibitor. Owner and exhibitor of horse still must be a paid member of the Eastern Idaho Paint Horse Club to qualify for the high point year-end award, but membership not required to enter the Open All Breed classes which are: Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure and Trail. Horse papers DO NOT need to be submitted to EIPHC in order for your points to accumulate
Points for year-end class awards will accumulate for classes that the horse enters and places in. Year-end class awards will be offered in the following classes:
Mares: weanling, yearling, two-year old, three-year old, aged, youth, amateur junior, amateur senior, junior two-year old and under solid paint bred, and senior three-year old and over solid paint bred, amateur solid paint bred mares.
Geldings: yearling, two-year old, three-year old, aged, youth, amateur junior, amateur senior, junior two-year old and under solid paint bred, and senior three-year old and over solid paint bred, amateur solid paint bred geldings.
Stallions: yearling, two-year old, three-year old, aged, youth, amateur junior, amateur senior, junior two-year old and under solid paint bred, and senior three-year old and over solid paint bred, amateur solid paint bred stallions
Overo and Tobiano color classes – weanlings are not allowed in this class, per APHA rules

All Awards are selected by an Awards Committee; a committee appointed by the Board of Directors. The Awards Committee is subject to the Board of Directors as well as a “budget”. A budget is approved by the Board of Directors and dictated by the economy of the club for that particular year’s show season.
APHA SHOW RULES: Show registration forms and registration papers must be filled out completely, correctly and presented to the show secretary at each show.
EIPHC Club Rules: Horse registration papers must be submitted EACH YEAR. Copies of registration papers should be sent to:

When registration papers are received, Shirley Laker will send a receipt stating she has received a copy of your horses’ papers. It is the owner’s responsibility to verify with Shirley Laker, 208-785-5700, she has indeed received your horse papers and has them on file. If your horses’ papers have not been received, points will not be accumulated. Points only accumulate after the papers have been received. This includes appropriate paperwork for weanlings, by August 1.
E.I.P.H.C. approved point system will be used to determine and points earned for first through sixth place, at all E.I.P.H.C. sponsored shows:

Points will be awarded according to the chart depending on the number of horses in the class and judge’s placing. No more than 6 points will be given for 1st place.
The grand champion in the halter class receives 2 (two) points and the reserve champion 1 (one) point.
At the E.I.P.H.C. “open” all breed approved shows, walk/trot and lead line will be $5.00, youth classes will be $8.00 and open or amateur classes will be $10.00. All Open, Amateur, Novice Amateur, Youth and Open All Breed classes will be charged a 1-time office fee of $7 per horse. Walk/Trot & Lead Line - $5.00 per class with NO office fee.
There will be an all-day fee offered at all EIPHC Open All Breed Shows of $60.00 per horse, any rider combination, any division!
At the E.I.P.H.C. pointed shows (APHA approved) youth classes will be $10.00 and novice amateur, amateur, and open will be $15.00 per horse, per judge, plus APHA fees. Exhibitors and owners are required to be paid members of the American Paint Horse Association prior to exhibiting.
If you are showing in the Open All Breed classes only, you do not have to be paid members of APHA, but owner and exhibitor of horse must be paid EIPHC members if you are riding to win the year-end high point Open All Breed award. An office fee of $5.00 will still be charged for Open All Breed entries, but there will be no APHA fees.
The day fee for the 4 classes offered for Open All Breeds is $50.00 and includes both judges. To enter just one Open All Breed class the fee is $15.00 per horse, per judge. (Classes offered are: Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail and Western Pleasure) Horse papers DO NOT have to be submitted for the Open All Breed division in order for your points to count.
Day Fee for Youth, Novice Amateur, Amateur and Open: $125.00 per horse, any rider combination for all divisions except Open All Breed classes

SHOW ENTRIES
SHOW ENTRIES FOR ALL E.I.P.H.C. Point and Open shows are accepted by the show secretary until 9:00 a.m. the day prior to the show. All Entries must be in written form….Fax, Email or Postal. The Class Schedule reflects the applicable numbers and addresses. A $10.00 late fee will be added for those who register after 9 A.M. on the day prior to the show AND a $25.00 late fee the day of the show. The entry fees must be paid prior to showing, or a blank, signed check must be left with the show secretary prior to competing. Late Fees for Open Shows are applicable.
Show management reserves the right to cancel or combine classes, junior and senior classes, or youth classes may be combined. If the classes are combined, points will be distributed to the appropriate class category according to appropriate class (i.e. junior/senior or youth 13 & under/14 to 18). At open shows, other classes can be added, if sufficient interest is indicated (3 or more entries).
Appropriate dress and equipment is required in all classes. See the APHA rule book for proper western or English attire.
Entries must be made at least one class prior to the class you are showing in. If you fail to notify the show secretary of withdrawal from a class at least two (2) classes prior to the class you are withdrawing from the fees must still be paid.
No person can pay or offer to pay another exhibitor’s entry fee for the purpose of enlarging a class. You will be suspended for this, as well as for un-sportsmanlike conduct.
Horses shown in two and three year old western pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle, cannot cross enter to junior western pleasure and junior hunter under saddle. These horses must be shown in a snaffle bit or hackamore. Split reins must be crossed when riding with two hands. Horses may also be shown one handed and reins cannot be crossed when showing one handed.
Junior horses are 5 years old and younger, and are to be shown with a bit, snaffle or hackamore. When showing a junior horse, you can ride two handed only when using a snaffle bit or hackamore. Split reins must be crossed when riding with two hands. Horses may also be shown one handed and reins cannot be crossed when showing one handed.
Senior horses are 6 years old or older and must be shown with a shank bit and curb strap or chain. Chains must be at least ½” in width and lie flat against the jaw of the horse.
Yearling Lunge Line classes will be run as per the rules in the current APHA rule book.
Yearling In-Hand Trail will be run as per the rules in the current APHA rule book.
E.I.P.H.C. Walk Trot classes: Ages eleven and under (instead of 5 to 9.)
Beginners Walk Trot Class is age 12 and Over and cannot cross enter in any other riding class. The minimum age of a youth exhibitor will be five years of age with the exception of lead line.
When calculating year-end awards no judges scores will be dropped. We will be counting all EIPHC sponsored shows for year-end awards.
Any and all complaints must be in writing, accompanied by a $25.00 check and presented to the President of EIPHC (Alan Watkins) within 5 business days after the show. These will be reviewed by the Board of Directors at the next scheduled meeting, and acted upon accordingly. If the decision is in your favor, the $25.00 will be refunded.
JUDGES DECISIONS IN COMPETITION ARE FINAL AND CANNOT BE PROTESTED.
$35.00 fee will be charged for all returned checks. We reserve the right to refuse payment by check due to insufficient funds.
